Celebrated every March 17, the feast of the patron Saint Patrick is one of the longest celebrated feasts in Matapédia. Every year the organizing committee enthusiastically plans this special day. After a mass celebrated in Irish colours and accents the population gathers at the community hall. Irish music and songs fill the air while we celebrate a traditional card party and draws. The large annual attendance by both locals and visitors witness our love of this special day, and the warm ambiance of our celebration.

La Criée, a lively tradition
At the start of September each year, at the municipal centre of St-Alexis, this special event helps to raise funds for the local parish. Farm products, conserves, candies and local crafts are auctioned by our local auctioneers Marien Bossé and Michel Martin. This local tradition was started by Abbot Guy Aubut in October of 1983 and continues to today. St-Francois has also adopted this tradition over the past few years.
